Prayers are needed please!!!!

Hi Folks:

The funeral arrangements have been made for Pastor Larry’s mom this coming Friday at 2:30. The service will be held at Johnson Heights Church 152 2nd Street Surrey. The family has requested, instead of flowers, that memorial gifts be directed to the Gideon’s or to World vision. Please pray for Larry and the family as they go through this time of saying good bye and celebrating Larry’s mom life who loved her savior dearly.

Hi Folks: Just a couple of items.

A few years back we prayed for Billie Moore a friend of Conrad Hessel. At that time he was not expected to live for very long with cancer. God reprieved him and he came to a saving knowledge of God and became active in his church. This fall the cancer has come back and he has just a short time to live. He has no regrets now and we just need to pray for God’s grace in the last few weeks of his life.

The women’s bible study that was cancelled this past Monday has been rescheduled for Monday January 30th.

Blessings, Pastor Ron.

New to Campbell River?

We hope you feel welcome because as a church we love to welcome newcomers to our city and to our church.  We are a warm and friendly group of Christians who enjoy sharing in each other’s faith. We’re confident you will fit right in.  We love Jesus Christ and enjoy delving into the riches of God’s Word as we enter into worship together.  We enjoy having fun together, including a monthly fellowship meal, and we have home Bible Studies and children and youth ministries for the entire family.

Come and join us for worship.  We meet every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. at our wonderful facility, 250 Tenth Avenue.  We are in the The old Galaxy theatre on 10th that we renovated and is now God’s house.  If  you’re not sure where we are there is a map on the top right hand side of our web site under Services.

Do you know a computer person who knows web sites & web design?

Sunday, January 1st, 2012

I am looking for someone to take over this web site, first when I am away or sick.  And permanently down the road sometime as I am preparing to move from here.  Do you think this could be you looking after the DCC web site?  This in itself is actually a ministry (true).  This would be on a weekly basis a few hours here and there during the week or week night.

If you think this could be you, let me (The current Web Master) know.  Contact Pastor Larry pastorlarry.gotchurch@gmail.com or Pastor Ron pastorron@gotchurch.ca or myself the current WEBMESITER at pastorterry@faithbuilder.ws  or 250-202-0971

Exciting New Sermon Series

Tuesday, September 13th, 2011

I am truly excited as we launch a new sermon series this fall.  Entitled, “Revealing Revelation: What on earth is this World Coming to?”, we will be working our way through the wonderful book of Revelation.  Many of us question where this world is headed and what is in store for me in the future?  The book of Revelation challenges us to consider who it is who is in control of the future and who is guiding our world’s events.  The result of our study will be a wonderful exaltation of Jesus Christ. THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE SERIES  as it deals with our end times which everyone needs to know about and deal with, time is very very short in this world!!!

Please join us Sundays at 10 a.m. for worship, the study of the Scriptures and for warm fellowship.  I know you will be blessed.  Invite your friends to join you.

Questions Invited

Friday, March 18th, 2011

We are planning our message topics for the summer and into the fall.  This summer we are planning to attempt to provide Biblical responses to the many questions people have about God, faith and Christian living.  Honest questions are invited.  These could be your own questions or questions you are being asked by others.

One of the biggest questions we will attempt to respond to in a series of messages beginning on September 11th.  The series will be entitled, “What on earth is this wold coming to?”

We invite you to join us for worship as we uplift a living God who is so mighty and so loving.

Tsunamis of Grace and Earthquakes of Mercy

Friday, March 18th, 2011

We, at Discovery Community Church, have experienced so many blessings from the Lord as we have consistently come before Him in prayer and as we have kept our eyes open to see His hand and to give Him the glory.  With the many pictures and stories coming to us out of the tradgedy in Japan, we are going to be considering what God may say to us here in Campbell River as we view such events around the world.  Such events are increasing and are part of God’s megaphone to the world.  Wrestling with the reality of a loving God in a world where such misery can occur is part of our challenge.
